Gum disease which is otherwise known as periodontal disease is an infection of the gums enclosing your teeth. This is one of the major reasons for tooth loss in young and adult people. This disease is painless and so many people are not aware of such disease when they get affected by it. Gum disease is caused by bacteria which forms a sticky layer on the teeth.
Doctors predict the disease by measuring the space between your teeth and gums. If the bacterium is not removed within a short time it will continue to grow and create toxins which affect the gums. A gum disease forms just below the gum lines and creates a small pocket that separates the gum from the teeth. The formation of the disease has two stages. i.e.: Gingivitis and Periodontists.
The early stage of the gum disease is the Gingivitis where the gums turn into a red color, becomes swollen and bleed easily. The disease can be cured in this stage and can be eliminated daily by flossing and brushing.
